Community Guidelines

Community Guidelines

Koinonia Harvest exists so your church can carry each other’s burdens between Sundays. It is a private space — only members of your congregation are here. These guidelines set what is expected of everyone in it.

These apply to everything posted in the App: prayer requests, help requests, encouragements, testimonies, and direct messages.

What we expect

  • Be real. Use your own name. Do not misrepresent who you are.
  • Be kind. Disagreement is fine. Contempt is not.
  • Be careful with what you are told. What members share here is often tender — illness, family strain, financial trouble. Do not repeat it outside the App.
  • Be honest about need. Ask for help you actually need, and follow through on help you offer.

What is not allowed

  • Harassment, bullying, threats, or intimidation of any member.
  • Hate speech or degrading content targeting anyone for race, ethnicity, national origin, disability, sex, gender, age, or any other characteristic.
  • Sexually explicit content, or any sexual content involving minors.
  • Violence, threats of violence, or promotion of self-harm.
  • Soliciting money. Do not ask members for loans, donations, or payments. Financial need should go to your church staff.
  • Scams, fraud, or deceptive requests.
  • Spam, advertising, or promoting outside businesses or causes.
  • Sharing another member’s private information, or reposting their requests outside the App.
  • Illegal activity of any kind.

Zero tolerance

We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and for abusive behavior toward other members. Content that violates these guidelines is removed, and the member who posted it may be suspended or permanently removed from the App at our discretion, without warning for serious violations.

How this is enforced

1. Automated review. Every prayer request, help request, and message is automatically screened for objectionable content before it becomes visible to other members. Content that fails this screening is held for review by your church’s staff rather than published.

2. Reporting. Any member can report a post or message from the item itself. Reports go to your church’s pastoral staff and administrators, who review them within 24 hours.

3. Blocking. Any member can block another member at any time. A blocked member’s content disappears from your view, and yours from theirs. Blocking is private — the blocked member is not told.

4. Removal. Church staff and administrators can remove content and remove members from their congregation. Staff can also read direct messages within the church, so they can step in when a member is being harassed or pressured; every conversation in the App is marked to remind you of this.

Meeting in person

Help requests often lead to meeting face to face — a ride, a meal, moving furniture. Meet in public where you can, and where possible at the church during a church activity. Tell someone where you are going. Trust your instincts. The App connects you to people in your congregation, but that is not a substitute for your own judgment about safety.

Reporting a serious concern

If someone is in immediate danger, call 911. For concerns about abuse, exploitation, or anything involving a minor, contact your church leadership directly and Dillon@koinoniaharvest.com.

Consequences

Depending on what happened, we may remove the content, warn the member, suspend the account, or remove the member permanently. Serious violations — threats, sexual content involving minors, exploitation — result in immediate permanent removal and, where required, a report to law enforcement.
